Escape the city and discover the magical Gargia Valley. Far from city lights, this is the perfect spot to see the northern lights in all their glory. Our location offers some of the best views of this natural wonder, with clear skies and minimal light pollution.
Our mountain lodge in Gargia Valley has 150 years of history, which we share through photos and stories. Learn how locals from long ago viewed the northern lights—with some seeing them as a sign of good fortune, while others were afraid of their beauty.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature around our lodge. Walk by the stream, try snowshoeing, meet our friendly neighbors and their husky team, and warm up by the fire in our lavvo tent with a cup of local Norwegian hot drink. Inside the lodge, relax by the fireplace and see our gallery that tells our 150-year story. Don’t miss our make-your-own waffle station, where you can try waffles with local jam and traditional Norwegian brown cheese.
