Private Tour: Experience Seiland National Park

About this adventure

Precipitous mountainsides plunging into the sea, secluded flower meadows, and Europe’s most northerly glaciers glimmering above the island are just some of the things waiting for you in Seiland. Enjoy an easy and beautiful day trip to the south side of the island and get a taste of its unique nature.

Seiland is a unique and beautiful part of Western Finnmark’s island nature, with small and large fjords surrounded by steep mountains that plunge into the sea. Seiland’s two glaciers are the northernmost in Scandinavia. The steep coastal mountains are a breeding ground for a rich population of birds of prey. The ultrabasic bedrock in the south gives rise to a particularly lush plant life. We will also have the opportunity to experience wildlife, such as seals and sea eagles up close.

On this trip we take you on an exciting RIB boat ride across the Altafjord, past picturesque mountains towards the far end of the fjord. We will ride past Seilands lush green mountains and go ashore in Bekkarfjord, Seilands most beautiful fjord. We take a short hiking trip up to Bekkarfjord most spectacular viewpoint.

The tour

Meet us at our Æventyr Adventure Store in the city center 5-10 minutes before the start of the Tour.

9:00

The Tour will start with a short briefing on what our day will look like. You will also get warm suits, gloves, boots and googles to wear on the boat. Afterwards your guide will drive you to the harbor.

9:45

In the harbor you will board our RIB boat and meet your driver. After a short safety briefing we are ready to go and enjoy the fresh breeze on the fjord.

11:00

The trip to Seiland takes approximately 1 hour. When the mountains are turning green we have arrived at our destination.

11:30

We arrive at Bekkarfjord and start our hike up to the viewpoint. After the hike we have lunch next to the shore before returning to Alta.

14:00

We will return to our Adventure Store in the city center.

Practical information

Changes to the trip due to weather conditions may occur.

Wear warm clothes and shoes in accordance with the weather forecast and season.

Bring your own shoes and clothes for the walk on Seiland.

This trip is not recommended for those who have back problems or for those who are pregnant. Children up to 12 years.

Passengers must be at least 120cm tall to be able to join this trip.

For this activity we need at least 4 participants.

We recommend you to eat breakfast before the trip, as the meal is served after our hike on Seiland. Please inform us about allergies at least 24 hours before your departure. We are able to accommodate a wide range of allergies.
